The olde common denominator of not a lot to do, and nice lighting. This is another of a whole slew of pictures taken on a Sigma 90mm macro lens touted as "a piece of shit" lens. Here its effective focal length is approximately that of a 135 mm lens. It's being shot wide open at f/2.8, its hand held indoors at circa 1/125 second. IE is 400. Its like winning a road race in a Lada - or at least to some fields of thought. This lens is a sleeper lens. In everyday jpg photography, it behaves like a Nikkor. Oh ya, it was on auto focus too.
